Info on sparring, the gear students need to wear, and a video about gear from a kids perspective.

Lets start with some very basic rules of tae kwon do Olympic style sparring.

 

you can punch (with a clenched fist).

And you can kick with any part of your foot below your ankle. And that's it.

No other techniques are allowed only punches and kicks.

An Awesome Alternative to Drugs: Martial Arts Practice As Treatment For Children With AD/HD

So what I did is post this article, with citation above, and after.  Such useful informaiton about the benefits of our training regarding AD/HD.   It is long, and well, a bit dry; however, just checking out the Abstract and conclusion is very informative.

Using positive visualization for yourself, or with your kid

Let’s pretend your child has an important project which will require him so speak in front of his class or maybe the entire school. Now keep in mind this is just an example, but the idea is to use visualization on just about everything, especially the tasks which he may feel challenged and fearful of. 

 Say to him something like this..”Son it’s your turn.  You feel  calm, your muscles…
