The Black Belt I Must Become

The black belt I wish to become is one of transcended skills. One that I cannot become until I have truly realized my abilities, and the limit on my physicality and endurance becomes limitless. I want to be a black belt with precision, speed, and power.

I want to be a black belt who is also a Leader. To be one with control over the floor and the skills present to lead it in an educational and entertaining way that emulates the prowess the masters have put into their teachings. I want to be a figurehead for being the responsible adult who the children can look up to. A leader that can help a physically hurt child feel better enough to relax and calm themselves. A leader that can help an emotionally hurt child feel better about themselves and get them to return to the floor and have a great time.

I want to be a black belt that has total knowledge of this martial art. One who’s form is the example and sets the key for the entire class. I have listened to the lessons of taekwondo as much as I can, and I try to emulate all lessons that this sport can give into my life. In my exercise I use my endurance and my strength to further my physical fitness, and in life I use the warm cunning calmness of a sparring match to keep myself cool and understand that my opponent is or can be my friend and that this is but a practice before I face a real adversary.

I want to be a black belt so that I can have an achievement for life that validates my hard work, and be a symbol of my skills and knowledge.
