Well, what we are doing here at Mercer Island Martial Arts is getting prepared. Tina Jackson, our office manager (and brown belt) has volunteered and is now on the Mercer Island
Emergency Preparedness committee headed by Jennifer Franklin at the police
department. She has been appointed as a
resource point person on the Island.
During this process Office Franklin said that most people would like to
have emergency kits, but just haven't taken the time, or action required to get
them.

So, we have! we have put together a right priced kit, that has all the requirements plus extras for a person to survive on their own for six days. She also will be putting
all the emergency info in it from the committee about what to do
"if", where to go "if", how to stay safe "if".

Officer Franklin says that upon hearing the information about the necessity for emergency preparedness supplies that people don't take actions within 24 hours, it is likely that they won't. Be one of the ones who will! We are.
