My first hero is my Dad.  He has taught me so many things and doesn't even know it.  He is selfless, kind, caring, friendly and all around great person.  He retired early to help take care of his oldest grandchild and now he and my mom are taking care of 6 grandchildren while my brother, sister-in-law, wife and myself go to work.  He takes care of everyone even while he is sick himself.  You put him in a room of strangers and he'll make at least one new friend in the first 5 minutes.  He taught me how to be a good man, husband, father and over all good person.

My Second hero is my former second grade teacher Miss Hackett.  She adopted one of her students as she was having trouble at home.  While she was teaching she really cared for her students and went the extra mile for them.  Now that she is retired she is taking care of some of her elderly friends.  Since her daughter and my sister were best friends we stayed really close and now she is part of the family.  I always felt like she was a second mother for me.

My third hero(s) are my friends that are battling cancer right now, one of which is her second fight.  They are going through this hardship in life but still emit strength, happiness and  joy.  They don't bring anyone down with the fact that they have cancer.  They prove that no matter what life throws at you, as long as you believe, everything will be just fine.

My fourth hero(s) are the men and women of the armed forces.  They risk their lives for  the very things most of us take for grated; freedom, all of our rights as United States citizens, etc.  I couldn't imagine what it is like going through what they do on a daily basis.  I am thankful for what they do and know I couldn't have what I do without them.

My final hero(s) are our local first responders.  They keep our property, homes, and families safe.  They rush to the scene of an emergency when most people are running away from it.  They put their lives on the line to make sure the community is safe.  I don't think they get the amount of praise they should and I would like to thank them for all they do.
