Push Up Group!

Push ups are one of the basic and most common exercises for the human body. Push ups are not only great for your chest, but do a tremendous job of defining your abs, triceps, shoulders and torso. start with 5, 10, 50, 100--- per day.

make 100 your goal--- or how many thousand this year!

Don't give up before you try! start with five push ups a day, or ten. bravo for those who can already do 100, but lets just get moving toward your training goals!
so even if it is just five, or ten, do them everyday, and log them. I will be starting with far less than 100. but do as many as you can, with good form to start. do that many for a week, then add 5-10 more per day from that point forward.
If you need help making a plan ask me, or master Wells for info, and we can reach the 100 push up goal together.
Since the muscles focused on with pushups need at least 24 hours to recover from a good workout start with every other day as you move toward the 100 goal.

work in sets. so, if you can do 10 nice form push ups, take a break-- 30sec or 1 min-- and do another 10. There are many ways to reach this goal. When I was up to speed with training I did well over 100--- I am not there now, and will be building up along with you.

To an amazing core in 2010!

Jan, I am sorry I did not see your response to the push up question until today. I have been site challenged and not online - but now I think I know how. I will be in Seattle from Friday or Saturday until the following Thursday, and hope to visit the school for one day with Tina. I hope to meet everybody.

OK pushups. 1/4 - 40, 1/11 - 40, 1/16 - 40; 1/18 - 60. I still have strength and balance issues, but am getting some strength back. Some of these pushups have one knee down. Maybe half do. In our school we do increments of 10 of many varieties each day.

01/10-01/16/2010: 5 days, 10-15 pushups per day. at least I can do about 7 pretty decent ones in a row without stopping. still a struggle...
