Through Tae Kwon Do, I hope it will help me with my technique and through that, it will improve my speed and agility. I also aim to learn more leadership and help teach other students what I learn from those who taught me.

After connecting with the volunteer coordinator with the local MS Walk I am not only registered to walk but to help with the registration of the event. I continue to balance my fund raising with not only volunteering with the event, but spending time with my brother who continues his fight against MS. It seems that every week brings a new challenge, with this week the fight being lung…

My mother is one of my living heroes. She was the one that first found a place to go to Tae Kwon Do. Although at times she may seem strict, she is still kind and loving and her strictness is for my own good.

My father is also one of my number one living heroes because I can't rate either of my parents. My dad…

Living Hero #1 – My Mom
My first living hero is my mother. She teaches me in a way that no schoolteacher ever could. She doesn’t teach me math, history, or physics, but instead she teaches me loyalty, honesty, and how to be peaceful. She helps me through my troubles, and I really don’t know where I’d be without her. Thank you, Mom!
Living Hero #2 – My Grandfather
My Grandfather, who I know as Grampy, is really one of the strongest people I have…

I remember starting out in Martial Arts, and how tentative I was. Being in class with all the other people – I kept thinking, How do I make those moves? My arms and legs don’t move that way!
You think to yourself I’m not sure I can do that, but I’ll give it a try!…

We have done hundreds of hours of free training at schools, and for groups, and with our own students, as well as 1:1 work with kids and youth who are being bullied, or have been bullies themselves. Most of all though we spend time teaching kids, the majority of whom, will be and are bystanders as the bully cycle plays out in front of them. We teach…

Below is a blog post put up by a colleague and mentor Master Tom Callos, who is actually also a member on this web page as well. And to the left is a picture of his son who started his training at 5 years old. Keenan is now a BJJ champion.

I think these episodes are just getting better and better, and that these kids are remarkable. They are filming, editing, and creating the content for these videos. This one, showcases an informational interview with our chamber of commerce representative. Bravo to the kids, and especially to Instructor Vlcek and Jido Merly for the guidance and support you are giving them.…

A couple weeks ago, a colleague and fellow school owner we know, had a house fire. Thankfully, his family was safe, even the dog, but the house burnt to the ground. I was reminded by this as well as other fires recently our commitment to training folks regarding escaping and fire safety.
It is easy to forget the importance of prevention, and put off…
